Arthur’s seat

This first one isn’t really that far out of Edinburgh, but many people miss it out due to being put off by the long climb up to the summit, but Arthur’s Seat is a must for anyone who’s visiting Edinburgh. It doesn’t cost a penny and the views will be well worth it once you reach the top.

Rosslyn Chapel

This 15th Century chapel is located not too far out of Edinburgh, making it a short and sweet day trip. Entry into the chapel, visitor centre and grounds will set you back less than a tenner each, so it’s well worth it. Glasgow

The biggest and most vibrant city in Scotland is probably the farthest away destination on our list, but it is only about one and a quarter hours drive away from Edinburgh. The train journey is even shorter. Enjoy all that is bustling and quirky city has to offer you. Why not extend your trip and stay a few days in Glasgow too?

Hadrian’s Wall

To the south of Edinburgh lies the impressive Hadrian’s Wall, built in Roman times as the historic boundary between England and Scotland. There are many tours that visit this historic former border.
