The City of Chester, to the southwest of Manchester, is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. If you’re a history buff, make sure you see the famous Roman walls that encircle the city. The city core is made up of many Tudor buildings, which only adds to the historic atmosphere. Upmarket bars and shops make Chester a great place to go for a nice day out with friends.

The Lake District

 

The Lake District is the largest National Park in the UK and is one of the most beautiful too. It’s no wonder why it’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.  As the name suggests, there are a lot of lakes in the Lake District, sixteen in all, with a multitude of smaller bodies of water. The area is a haven for hikers and walkers. If that’s not your thing, make sure you spend some time in the beautiful Lake District town of Keswick.
