Graduating from University? Worried about not being able to adapt to life after University? Don't fear. Follow our guide

So, you are graduating from University? Congratulations. For many, the university is over (unless they go on to do a postgraduate course), and with it comes the realisation that they will have to go back into the real world.

For many, dealing with graduating can be quite a struggle. You’ve attended a few lectures a week, lived with your mates, and gone out most nights for nearly three years of your life. University is probably one of the most exciting times in any young person’s lives, and it sets them a lot of them up for adult life.

Just because you’ve graduated, doesn’t mean that your life is over!

You have to find a job

Yes, this isn’t anybody’s idea of fun, but we all need to find a job. Some people will be able to find a job much easier than others. Don’t worry if it seems that this is the case, that everyone else is doing better than you. Take your time, and if you need to, talk to your careers service and see how they can help.

You might need to start paying off your student loan

This one might seem a bit scary, but is it? You’ll only need to start paying off your student loan once you’ve reached a certain level of income, and even then, it won’t all be in one go. Anyway, loan payments will be taken out of your pay before your pay even reaches you, so you’ll not notice.

You need to stop partying all the time

You’ll probably find that you can’t be going out and partying all the time. You’re getting older, the hangovers will start to get worse, trust me. I’m not saying that you can’t go out ever, but you’ll have to reign it in a bit.

Graduation doesn’t mean the end of the world, it is simply the start of a new chapter. Going on to do further study? Be sure to check out our website for all your accommodation needs.
