Use apps as a student? Here's 5 important student apps to use

These days, there is so much going on. Trying to balance everything can be difficult. Especially when you’re a university student, but these days, there literally is an app for everything.

There are apps to help you study, save money, keep safe and even have a regret-free night out. There are thousands of apps out there. Here, we count down five of our favourite apps for managing uni life.

When you’re up to your eyeballs in assignments, the last thing you want to be doing is spending hours referencing. This is especially true if you’re one of those people who leave all of their references to do at the end of an assignment.

EasyBib is here to make your essay writing that much easier. With EasyBib, you can search for the book, article, or journal you’re using, and cite it for you. You can even scan the barcodes of books too.

EasyBib supports over 7,000 different citation styles, so you’re bound to be able to find your institution’s style.

This is a great app to help you stay safe whilst at uni. Circle of Six allows you to select up to six of your closest contacts at add to your trusted circle. If you find yourself in a tricky or uncomfortable situation, you can send them a preset text alert with only two taps.

This is great not only for nights out but also whilst you’re out and about or even at home. The app can even connect you to 24/7 hotlines to help you stay safe and healthy.

Many of us have regretted doing something on a night out. For many of us, this is usually drunk calling or texting someone we shouldn’t have. This could be a boss, a family member or even an ex. Never fear, Drunk Mode is here to help stop your morning-after beer fear.

Before you go out, you can set Drunk Mode to block you from contacting selected contacts for 12 hours. Perfect for if you’re heading out for a late one. You can also use the app to find your friends who also have the app, using GPS. Perfect for if you get split up in the club.

Unidays is a great way to save money and find student discounts. Download the app, and have a wealth of deals and discounts at your fingertips. You can also find out about limited time and discounts that are available near you. Perfect for when you’re out and about.

Another great thing about the Unidays app is you can use it as student ID in shops and restaurants. You simply create an ID that you can bring up to show.

You’ve probably heard of and used Uber before. But for students, it can be a lifesaver. If you’re running late to lectures, you can quickly get a cab to make sure that you arrive on time.

The best thing about Uber is that it is cheap, and cash-free, great for when you don’t have any money to pay the taxi driver. You can also split fares with your friends, saving you any arguments over who owes who what.

Uber is also useful for when you don’t know any of the local taxi phone numbers. With the Uber app, you can be guaranteed to get transport.

These are the top 5 apps that every student should use.
